his conviction. Harris had moved to Duluth from Chicago approximately six months before the shooting. On the night of the incident, Harris claimed that one of the victims had drawn a gun on him while a third man attacked him with a broomstick during what appeared to be a drug-related altercation. Despite his claims of self-defense, Harris was found guilty of first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder. He is currently serving a life sentence in prison.
The shooting was described as gang-related, with Harris having known gang affiliations.
