In the late summer of 2002, a quiet community in northern Minnesota was shaken by the violent deaths of Bonita L. Weber and her husband. On August 24, 2002, 54-year-old Bonita and her 59-year-old husband, Douglas Weber, were killed in Bowstring Township. The couple had previously been longtime residents of Fletcher, Minnesota, before moving to the Deer River area.
Bonita, a female, was remembered by those who knew her as a kind and wonderful person with a warm smile and a generous heart.
