In the late hours of a Saturday in North Minneapolis, police were called to a home on the 1800 block of Hillside Avenue. Inside, they discovered 35-year-old Jerome D. Turner, a Black/African American male, suffering from a gunshot wound. The incident, which occurred on March 8, 2014, marked another moment of violence in the community.
Rushed to North Memorial Medical Center, Turner fought for his life but ultimately succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound to the abdomen the following morning.
