In the late hours of November 7, 2014, a family camping trip in the serene Rum River State Forest in Minnesota took a tragic turn, ending the life of 16-year-old Hennah Nicole Rosa. The young female from St. Cloud was fatally shot while inside a recreational vehicle with her family. The events of that night unfolded from a dispute that escalated with devastating consequences.
An argument reportedly began between Hennah and her father concerning a malfunctioning heater within their
camper. As tensions rose, Hennah's 18-year-old brother, Luis Nahuel Rosa, intervened in the disagreement. The confrontation between the siblings quickly intensified, with Luis allegedly grabbing his sister by the throat and threatening her.
The altercation culminated in a single gunshot. At approximately 11:02 PM, a 911 call was made from the remote campsite, reporting a death resulting from a firearm discharge and that a suspect was being detained at the scene. When Mille Lacs County Sheriff's deputies arrived, they found Hennah deceased on the floor of the RV.
Luis Nahuel Rosa was immediately taken into custody by the deputies at the scene. He was later formally charged with the shooting death of his sister. Investigators were met with conflicting accounts of the moments leading up to the fatal shot. The father of the siblings informed law enforcement that Hennah had approached her brother with a knife. A knife was found in her hand at the scene. However, some witnesses who were present did not recall seeing a knife in Hennah's possession when she was shot.
