In the quiet woods near Shelly, Minnesota, a hunting trip turned into a tragedy on November 15, 2014. Blake Larson, a 25-year-old male from Nielsville, had gone out deer hunting, an activity he enjoyed. As the day wore on and he did not return, concern grew among his family and friends. A search was initiated to find the young hunter.
The search ended in heartbreak when Larson's body was discovered in a wooded area northwest of Shelly. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
