Brock Cecil Larson, aged 36, from Saint Paul, MN, died on May 9, 2017, as a result of a botched robbery attempt. The incident occurred near 333 Burgess Street in Saint Paul. Larson was fatally shot by Ryan Fore during a marijuana deal that turned into a robbery. Fore, along with three other individuals—Gabriel Kimbrough, Edward Lamonte Williams, and Paris Sjostrand—had planned to rob Larson under the pretense of purchasing marijuana from him.
Ryan Fore, who was 28 years old at the
time, befriended Larson days before the incident to set up the robbery. During the supposed transaction, the plan went awry, and Fore ended up shooting Larson multiple times. Larson was taken to Regions Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Following the incident, all four suspects were arrested and charged. Ryan Fore pleaded guilty to one count of unintentional second-degree murder in exchange for his testimony against the other defendants. He was sentenced to approximately 14 years in prison. Gabriel Kimbrough, Edward Lamonte Williams, and Paris Sjostrand were also convicted for their roles in the crime.
Larson's death left his family and friends devastated. He was remembered as a loving father to his daughter, Rylie, and a man who was passionate about his work and hobbies. His family expressed their grief and frustration with the criminal justice system during the sentencing hearings, feeling that the punishment did not adequately reflect the loss of Larson's life.
