On April 10, 2019, the tranquil life of 77-year-old Caucasian female Alexandra Light Jacobs came to a tragic end in her lakefront home in Orono, Minnesota. On that Wednesday morning, police responded to a call and discovered Alexandra and her husband of 57 years, Irwin Lawrence Jacobs, deceased in their bed. A handgun was also found at the scene. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner later confirmed that Alexandra died from multiple gunshot wounds and ruled her death a homicide.
There
were no arrests made in connection with Alexandra’s death, as the sole suspect was her 77-year-old husband, Irwin. The medical examiner determined that Irwin Jacobs died from multiple self-inflicted gunshot wounds, classifying his death as a suicide. Authorities concluded that Irwin fatally shot his wife before taking his own life. Police assured the public that there was no ongoing threat to the community, as the incident was contained to the Jacobs' home.
Friends and longtime business associates of Irwin Jacobs revealed that he had been distraught over his wife's declining health. Alexandra had reportedly been in a wheelchair for about a year and was showing signs of dementia.
