On September 5, 2023, 29-year-old Hannah Nicole Jansen Parmenter of Elk River, Minnesota, was tragically killed in a murder-suicide incident at the Whitebirch Resort in Breezy Point. Her mother, 54-year-old Melanie Michele Jansen of Maple Grove, was also a victim in this heartbreaking event. Authorities determined that Melanie's partner, 59-year-old Michael Charles Toner, fatally shot both women before taking his own life.
