Andy Edward Wilcox, aged 42, passed away on August 11, 2019, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Born on April 21, 1977, to Ellward and Kathleen Wilcox in Fairmont, Minnesota, Andy graduated from Fairmont High School and attended Mankato State University. He later moved to South Dakota to be closer to his future wife, Teresa Zomer, whom he married on February 2, 2002. The couple had two daughters, Lucy and Emily.
Andy Wilcox's death was not the result of foul play. He passed away after a lengthy battle with depression and small fiber neuropathy a condition that causes severe pain and discomfort. There were no suspects or arrests related to his death, as it was not a criminal matter.
Andy was a dedicated family man and a passionate newspaper editor. He worked at several newspapers, including the Parker New Era and the Brandon Valley Challenger, before co-publishing the Lake Mills Graphic in Iowa and the Sioux Valley News in Canton, South Dakota. He and his wife eventually took over ownership of the Sioux Valley News.
Throughout his life, Andy enjoyed various hobbies such as home improvement, fishing, hunting, and helping others through their struggles. He was known for making memories with his family and living the 'newspaper man' life. Andy is survived by his wife, Teresa; daughters, Lucy and Emily; parents, Ellward and Kathleen; sisters, Lori Bristow and Jackie Heironimus; and several nieces and nephews.
