On January 20, 2020, the body of Lemandre Eugene Ingram, aged 40, was discovered in an alley behind the 3500 block of 4th Street North in Minneapolis, MN. Responding officers were called to the scene around 7:15 a.m. and observed signs of trauma on Ingram's body. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner later determined that Ingram had died from a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide.
The investigation revealed that Ingram had been in a vehicle with Jeffrey McCraven,
aged 32, of Crystal, MN, and another witness on the night of January 19. According to the witness, the three men parked at the witness's home on Penn Avenue North in Minneapolis. As the witness walked towards his home, he heard a single gunshot and saw McCraven holding a gun. Surveillance footage corroborated the witness's account.
Jeffrey McCraven was charged with second-degree murder in connection with Ingram's death. Despite the charges, McCraven was not in custody at the time, and authorities believed he might flee the area due to his violent criminal history. The Minneapolis Police Department continued to investigate the case, seeking to apprehend McCraven and bring him to justice.
