However, a few days later, Minneapolis police clarified that Pollard was the victim of a separate shooting incident that occurred in downtown Minneapolis, near 7th Street North and 1st Avenue North.

arriving at the Hennepin County Medical Center with gunshot wounds from the Uptown shooting. Pollard was among those transported to the hospital, arriving unconscious and in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased. The initial confusion led to the belief that the Uptown shooting had been fatal. However, the subsequent investigation determined that Pollard's shooting was a distinct event.
