On August 22, 2021, Uel Dandre Lott, aged 32, was found dead in a vehicle in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Minneapolis police discovered Lott slumped over in the driver's seat of a car on the 300 block of Washington Avenue North. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head, and another bullet was found in his right thigh. A third bullet hole was located in the side of the car.

The investigation revealed that the incident occurred during a drug deal gone wrong. Kevin Eric Wilbert, aged 23, from Chicago, was identified as the primary suspect. According to court documents, Lott had contacted Wilbert's father earlier in the day to sell him marijuana. The two arranged to meet at a club on Washington Avenue North. Wilbert's father, along with several witnesses, provided statements to the police. Wilbert's father recounted that his son had left the club to retrieve his cell phone from the car and returned 10 to 15 minutes later. Shortly after, a woman informed Wilbert's father that someone had been shot inside his car.
The woman, who was in the car during the shooting, told police that she did not witness any argument and had her head down when the gun went off. Wilbert's father recognized the victim as 'Boom,' a street nickname for Lott. During the investigation, police found fingerprints on the front passenger door and a cellphone in the trunk of the car, both matching Kevin Eric Wilbert.
Kevin Eric Wilbert was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Uel Dandre Lott. Despite the charges, Wilbert remains at large, and a nationwide warrant has been issued for his arrest. The case highlights the tragic consequences of a drug deal that escalated into violence, resulting in the untimely death of Uel Dandre Lott.
