In the late summer of 2021, the life of Alexander Scott Christoff, a 37-year-old White/Caucasian male from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, was brought to a tragic and violent end. On August 29, what began as a planned encounter in Saint Paul descended into a fatal robbery, leaving a community in mourning and authorities on the hunt for those responsible.
The night before his death, Christoff had arranged to meet with a woman named Danell Ann Christner.
Following their meeting at the SpringHill Suites on Jackson Street, Christner allegedly contacted a group of individuals, identifying Christoff as a prime target for robbery. She is said to have informed them that he possessed a significant amount of money, drugs, and a high-end vehicle.
This information set in motion a deadly plan. In the early hours of August 29, as Christoff sat in his Audi in the hotel's parking garage, a group of men ambushed him. When he refused to comply with their demands and attempted to flee by reversing his car, the situation escalated. Gunshots shattered the predawn quiet of the parking structure. Christoff was struck by the gunfire, suffering wounds to his shoulder and leg.
A witness in the parking garage discovered the gravely injured Christoff and, finding his own phone inoperable, used Christoff's vehicle to rush him to a nearby hospital. Despite these efforts, the extensive blood loss from his injuries proved fatal, and Alexander Scott Christoff was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
The investigation that followed led to the arrests of several individuals. Danell Ann Christner, Leneil James Colbert Jr., Anthony Melvin Lamont Curtis Pryor, Tarrance Daronze Hardie, and Franklin Carnelius Spriggs were all charged in connection with the robbery and murder. The subsequent legal proceedings revealed the intricate planning of the robbery and the violent turn of events that led to an untimely death.
