In the early hours of May 20, 2022, a violent encounter in Saint Paul, Minnesota, ended the life of 38-year-old Tristan Trice, a Black/African American male from Brooklyn Park. The incident unfolded shortly after midnight near the intersection of Sherburne Avenue and North Mackubin Street, a scene that would soon be swarming with police. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting and discovered Trice inside a vehicle, suffering from critical gunshot wounds.
