On October 16, 2021, Skylar Cody Hunter, 31, from Brookston, MN, was found dead along with his father, Jamie Allen Hunter, 51, from Moose Lake. The incident occurred in Culver Township, where Skylar and his roommate, Cody Wayne Pirila, 31, resided on Eklund Road. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office identified Cody Pirila as the suspect in this tragic event.
