On February 23, 2017, 36-year-old Jason Stubby, a White male, was found dead in a residence in Newton, Kansas, the victim of a triple homicide. Two other men, Michael Lemons and Nelton Dean Lemons, also lost their lives in the violent encounter.
Early that morning, a distressing 911 call was made from the home. A woman's voice, strained with emotion, informed the dispatcher that people had been shot. Her cries were abruptly interrupted by a man's voice, "Sorry, I didn't mean to call you."
