William "Greg" Gregory Hugo, a 60-year-old male, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017, in Independence, Kansas. His death was the result of a fatal shooting, prompting a homicide investigation by the Independence Police Department, with assistance from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The incident occurred near the intersection of 24th and Laurel streets in Independence.
