In the early morning hours of Friday, October 16, 2020, the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet in Independence, Kansas, leading to a tragic discovery. A Black / African American man named Tyler Cook, age 27, was found deceased inside a vehicle that had crashed into an apartment building. He was not alone.
