In the early hours of a summer night in Wichita, Kansas, on June 1, 2019, the life of 29-year-old Ivell Ray, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight, in the 400 block of North New York Street, a dispute erupted between Ray and another man. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Ray in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
