Marlon Francisco Morales, a 32-year-old male Metro Transit Police Officer, tragically lost his life in June 2001 after a confrontation at a Washington, D.C. Metro station. Born in Guatemala, Morales had dedicated his life to service, having been a U.S. Army Gulf War veteran before joining the Metro Transit Police Department for a brief six-month period. His time with the department was cut short on the evening of Sunday, June 10, 2001, at the U Street-Cardoza Metro station.
