On October 16, 2015, at approximately 1:10 am, Joel David Midgett, aged 24, was fatally stabbed in the 200 block of K Street, Northwest, Washington, DC. Midgett was walking with a friend when they were both attacked. Emergency responders transported both victims to local hospitals, where Midgett succumbed to his injuries. His friend survived the incident with non-life-threatening injuries.
