In the Brightwood neighborhood of Northwest Washington, D.C., on the evening of October 11, 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the night, leaving two men dead and another wounded. One of the deceased was 25-year-old Renard Marsh, a Black male from the area. The incident unfolded on the 6200 block of 8th Street NW, where Marsh was on a porch when he was ambushed by several gunmen.
