In the heart of Congress Heights, on a Saturday afternoon, the familiar chime of the Holiday Market's glass doors was tragically silenced by the sound of gunfire. It was shortly before 2 p.m. on October 20, 2018, when 19-year-old Malik McCloud was shot in the 3500 block of Wheeler Road SE.
