In the early morning hours of a Wednesday in June 2019, tragedy struck in Northeast Washington, D.C., leaving a family and community to mourn the loss of 27-year-old Darryl Johnson. On June 12th, at approximately 9:21 a.m., the sounds of gunfire shattered the morning calm in the 300 block of 62nd Street NE.
