Darryl Johnson, a 27-year-old father from Washington, D.C., was tragically shot and killed on June 12, 2019, as he was leaving his apartment on 62nd Street NE. Johnson was on his way to his son's elementary school graduation when he was gunned down. The incident occurred in broad daylight, just blocks away from the Marvin Gaye Recreation Center.
