In the winter of 2020, a report of a traffic accident in Northwest Washington, D.C., led to the discovery of a grim scene. On the evening of December 3rd, police officers arrived at the 700 block of Morton Street, Northwest, to find 25-year-old Devonte Wilson inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, the young man succumbed to his injuries the following day.
