Fred Fensch, 87, male, was found dead alongside his wife after police were called to a home on the 5200 block of South Torrey Pines Drive near Hacienda Avenue around 8:30 a.m. on May 6, 2015. Officers discovered both with gunshot wounds in what investigators immediately described as an apparent murder-suicide. Days later, the coroner identified the woman as Silke Fensch, 80, and determined that she died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, while her husband's death was ruled a homicide.
