On May 18, 2015, 58-year-old Rodney Dorm of Marietta, Pennsylvania, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at The Range 702, a shooting range located at 4699 Dean Martin Road in Las Vegas, Nevada. First responders were called to the scene around 4:15 p.m., where Dorm had shot himself once in the chest. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Range 702, which bills itself as the largest gun range in Las Vegas, closed temporarily following the
incident but reopened the following day. The Clark County coroner's office confirmed Dorm's identity and ruled his death a suicide.
There were no reports of any arrests or involvement of suspects in this case, as the incident was determined to be self-inflicted. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department did not pursue any criminal investigation related to Dorm's death.
