On July 24, 2014, Anthony Edwards, a 39-year-old Black male, was fatally shot at approximately 3:15 a.m. at a Citgo gas station located at 116th Street and Michigan Avenue in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. The incident occurred in the early morning hours, and Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene.
