On January 10, 2019, the life of 36-year-old Jonathan Louis Burgos was cut short in a central Las Vegas alleyway. A dispute over a motorcycle led to a fatal encounter with his ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old Kayla Michelle Biron. Burgos, a man who had moved to Las Vegas from Southern California to be closer to his family and start fresh, was attempting to retrieve his stolen motorcycle when the confrontation occurred.
