Ernesto Garcia, aged 58, was tragically beaten to death on August 30, 2014, in Chicago. Garcia was homeless and was attacked while he tried to sleep in an alley. The brutal attack was perpetrated by two men, and it was reported that the only reason Garcia was targeted was because of his homelessness. Originally from Guatemala, Garcia had come to Chicago seeking a better life but faced significant hardship on the streets.
