In the summer of 2021, the life of Leana Flowers, a 32-year-old Black woman, was tragically cut short in her Las Vegas apartment. On the evening of August 6th, police responded to a call of a shooting at the Summerhill Apartments. Upon arrival, they discovered Flowers suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to University Medical Center, but her injury, a gunshot wound to the chest, proved fatal.
