On a winter afternoon in Denver, Colorado, the casual atmosphere of a local pool hall was irrevocably shattered. On January 3, 1983, Thomas Edward Gilson, a 44-year-old Black male, was inside Roy Green's Place at 1616 E. 34th Ave. An unknown assailant entered the establishment and suddenly began shooting at the patrons. Amid the chaos and gunfire, Gilson was struck and sustained significant injuries.
