On the night of April 16, 1994, a domestic dispute escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 26-year-old Boulder Police Officer Beth Haynes. The events began to unfold when a man, later identified as Ali Kalamy, abducted another man in Denver and forced him to drive to Boulder. The captive was able to escape and notify the authorities. Kalamy's target was a former girlfriend who had ended their relationship.
