In the winter of 1999, a shooting shattered the quiet of a southeast Denver neighborhood. On December 14th, officers from the Denver Police Department were dispatched to a residence at 4760 E. Wyoming Place following a report of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered 38-year-old Allen Dale Groves, a White male, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were immediately rendered, and Groves was swiftly transported to a local hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died shortly after his arrival. The incident, which occurred when Groves was 38 years old, was classified as a homicide.
The investigation into Allen Groves's murder remains open and is now considered a cold case. To date, the suspect or suspects responsible for his death have not been identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Denver Police Department continues to seek information from the public that could lead to a breakthrough in the case and bring those responsible for Groves's death to justice.
