Marcus LeVar Harris, a 24-year-old Black male, spent the late hours of June 8, 2001 at the Hollywood Legends nightclub at 5255 West 6th Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado. Closing time spilled patrons into the parking area, and Harris settled onto the hood of his car alongside a friend.
