On the night of January 27, 2002, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of Erin C. Golla, a 27-year-old White female, inside the AMF Broadway Lanes Bowling Alley in Littleton, Colorado. The bowling alley had closed for the evening, and Erin, an employee, was preparing to leave with a coworker, James Springer, and a friend, Robert Zajac. It was in these final moments of their shift, at approximately 11:50 p.m., that they were confronted by an unknown assailant.
The motive for the attack appears to have been a robbery. All three individuals, Erin, James, and Robert, were shot and killed during the encounter. Erin, a mother of two young girls and a graduate of Bear Creek High School, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a devastated family and community. The discovery was made by a friend who had arrived to give one of the victims a ride and, after entering the bowling alley, found the horrific scene and alerted the police.
Despite the passage of more than two decades, the case remains unsolved, and no arrests have ever been made in connection with the triple homicide. The investigation, involving both the Littleton Police Department and the FBI, has been ongoing, but a suspect has not been publicly identified. Law enforcement has indicated the killings may be linked to an attempted burglary at the same bowling alley just a week prior. A witness reported seeing a man with a shaved head wearing a trench coat leaving the bowling alley who smirked before driving away in a pickup truck. The community continues to seek answers in the tragic deaths of Erin Golla and her two companions.
