In the warm evening air of a Denver summer, Ronald Delaney Jr., a 22-year-old man, was walking with a friend, the city lights casting long shadows around them. Their walk was abruptly interrupted by the approach of several unidentified men. An exchange of words quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. In a sudden flash of gunfire, both Ronald and his friend were struck by bullets.
