On a tragic December day, the community of Centennial, Colorado, was irrevocably changed by an act of violence at Arapahoe High School that claimed the life of 17-year-old student Claire Davis. A senior with a passion for horses, she was described by friends as a happy person who always seemed to have a smile. Her life was cut short when a fellow student, Karl Pierson, 18, entered the school armed with a shotgun, a machete, numerous rounds of ammunition, and three Molotov cocktails.
