In the spring of 2014, the life of 31-year-old Raymond Eugene Garcia came to a tragic end in Greeley, Colorado. On the evening of May 21st, Garcia was involved in an incident with the Greeley Police Department that resulted in his death. The male, identified as Raymond Eugene Garcia, was shot by police officers during what was described as a prostitution sting that took place inside a local hotel.
According to reports, uniformed officers were conducting the sting operation when they came
into contact with Garcia. Authorities stated that during the encounter, Garcia produced a handgun. In response to this action, three police officers fired their weapons, fatally wounding him. No police officers were injured during the incident.
Following the shooting, an investigation was launched by the Weld County District Attorney's Office, a standard procedure for officer-involved shootings. The investigation concluded that the officers' actions were justified. The District Attorney's office determined that the officers were facing an 'imminent danger of death' when Garcia brandished his weapon, and therefore the use of deadly force was warranted. Raymond Eugene Garcia, born on August 25, 1982, was survived by his son and other family members.
