In the evening hours of July 31, 2015, a burst of violence in a Denver grocery store parking lot cut short the life of 17-year-old Jorge Elias Lopez-Ramirez. The Hispanic male was fatally shot at approximately 8:10 p.m. in the parking area of the Lowe's Mercado at 1320 South Federal Boulevard. Friends and family knew the teenager simply as Jorge Lopez.
