In the early morning hours of February 18, 2017, the life of 29-year-old Kelly Bly Acosta, a White male, was tragically cut short in an act of selfless courage. In the parking lot of his Aurora, Colorado, apartment complex on South Crystal Circle, Acosta witnessed a man assaulting a woman. Without hesitation, he intervened, attempting to de-escalate the volatile situation and protect the female. It was a decision that would cost him his life.
