On an autumn evening in Colorado Springs, the life of 24-year-old Conte Emanuel Smith-El was tragically cut short. On October 30, 2017, Smith-El, a male born on December 19, 1992, was fatally shot, leaving a community in shock and a family in mourning. The promising young man, who had relocated to Colorado Springs from Detroit for a new beginning, was known for his gentle and kind nature, always ready with a smile and a hug.
