In the late hours of a Monday evening in Aurora, Colorado, a life was tragically cut short. Sixteen-year-old Frederick Robert, a young man, was inside an apartment at the Aurora Hills Apartments, situated near East Archer Place and South Peoria Street. It was there, just before 11 p.m. on December 16, 2019, that the sound of a gunshot shattered the night's quiet.
When Aurora police officers arrived at the scene, they found Frederick suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite any efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead within the apartment. The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office would later confirm that his death was the result of the gunshot and officially ruled it a homicide, launching a full investigation into the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
