In the early evening of a Wednesday in Pueblo, Colorado, a life was abruptly cut short in the parking lot of the Val U Stay Inn & Suites. David Robert Scott Tilley, a 37-year-old male, was found with a gunshot wound on December 16, 2020. The call reporting the shooting came in around 6 p.m., drawing officers to the motel located in the 2000 block of North Hudson Avenue.
Upon their arrival, police discovered David Tilley in the parking lot.
Emergency fire rescue personnel immediately attempted life-saving measures, but their efforts were in vain. David was pronounced dead at the scene by a coroner investigator, his death later confirmed to be the result of the gunshot wound he sustained. An autopsy was scheduled to follow as part of the formal investigation into the homicide.
The investigation into the fatal shooting quickly led to a suspect. The Pueblo Police Department arrested 46-year-old Mohamed Henry in connection with the incident. He was subsequently booked into the Pueblo jail, facing a serious charge of first-degree murder. The circumstances that led to the violent encounter between the two men at the Belmont area motel were not immediately made public as the investigation continued.
