In the spring of 2022, a devastating incident unfolded in a Denver, Colorado apartment, resulting in the tragic loss of three lives, including that of four-year-old Me'Khi Parham Allen. On the evening of April 26th, police received a distressing 911 call from a woman reporting that individuals had been shot inside an apartment in the 5900 block of North Dunkirk Street.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a grim scene where Me'Khi, along with 65-year-old Denise Hood and 23-year-old Donne Allen, Jr., were found deceased. The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner would later confirm that all three victims had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, and their deaths were officially ruled as homicides.
The violent deaths of a young child, his great-grandmother, and his uncle sent shockwaves through the community, prompting an intensive investigation by Denver police detectives. In the days that followed, authorities appealed to the public for information, leading to an increase in the reward for any tips that could lead to an arrest. The breakthrough in the case came in the form of multiple anonymous tips, all pointing to one individual as the person responsible for the triple homicide.
Following up on these crucial leads, investigators identified 24-year-old Elijah Hood as the suspect. It was discovered that he was related to one of the victims, Denise Hood. On May 9, 2022, just under two weeks after the discovery of the bodies, Elijah Hood was taken into custody by the Denver police. He was subsequently charged with three counts of first-degree murder, in addition to one count of child abuse resulting in death and one count of first-degree burglary. The case was then handed over to the Denver District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
