In the early morning hours of November 9, 2022, in Grand Junction, Colorado, the life of 29-year-old Lucas Ryan Terry was tragically cut short. Terry, a male, was a graduate of Grand Junction High School and had attended Intellitech for mechanics, a field in which he was very talented. He was a father to three young sons, Ayden, Kellen, and Kyler, whom he loved tremendously.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and various motorsports, often sharing these passions with his children. He was known by his family as a loving son, brother, and an excellent caregiver to his mother.
The circumstances of his death unfolded at a camper on 22 Road. According to witness accounts, an altercation occurred when three individuals, Jeff Brewer, Caleb Jones, and Jessica Terry, arrived at the camper to retrieve some possessions. During a struggle over a gun with Brewer, Lucas Terry was shot in the chest and died at the scene. The incident led to a homicide investigation and subsequent arrests.
In the aftermath, Jeff Brewer, then 29, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit burglary. He was sentenced to 30 years for the murder charge and five years for the burglary charge. Caleb Jones also faced legal consequences for his role in the incident and was sentenced to 14 years in prison. Jessica Terry was also implicated and was scheduled for a jury trial in connection with the events that led to Lucas Terry's death. The loss of Lucas devastated his family, who remembered him as someone who was always willing to help when needed.
