In the quiet community of Florissant, Colorado, a heart-wrenching event unfolded on November 13, 2022, ending the life of 29-year-old Adrianna Mills. The tragedy was discovered after one of her elementary school-aged children bravely called 911 to report a shooting at their home in the Colorado Mountain Estates subdivision. When Teller County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the residence, they found a devastating scene.
Inside the home, Adrianna and her 27-year-old husband, Sean Mills,
were found deceased. Investigators quickly determined the incident was a murder-suicide, with Sean Mills identified as the suspect in his wife's death before taking his own life. A handgun was recovered at the scene. While the motive for the tragic act was not publicly released, the couple were known to be married.
Three young children, including an infant, were found physically unharmed inside the home at the time of the discovery. Two of the children were outside when deputies first arrived, while the infant was still inside. The children were taken into the care of the Department of Human Services and victim advocates before being reunited with relatives who traveled from out of state. The couple were both employees of Andrew Wommack Ministries and had been students at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park. The incident left the local community in shock, as such violent crimes are rare in the high country of Teller County.
