On February 4, 2021, New Mexico State Police Officer Darian Jarrott, a 28-year-old father of three with a fourth child on the way, was tragically killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in southern Luna County, New Mexico. Officer Jarrott was assisting members of the United States Homeland Security Investigations as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
