On April 29, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Las Cruces police responded to a reported shooting at a residence on the 1900 block of Princess Jeanne Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 34-year-old Steven Sanchez in a backyard shed, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
