On New Year's Eve of 2021, the life of 17-year-old White/Caucasian male Joshua Vigil was tragically cut short in the small community of Riberia, New Mexico. A party, intended to ring in the new year, became the backdrop for a fatal confrontation that would forever alter the lives of two families. Inside the residence located at 8 El Gasnate, an altercation erupted between Vigil and another teenager, Joaquin Sanchez, who was an 18-year-old classmate.
